Patricia Owen is the director of Oncology Services at
NHCI. Ms. Owen provides administrative and strategic oversight for radiation oncology, three inpatient
oncology units, a blood and marrow transplant program, a breast care program, oncology outpatient infusion
services, oncology research, tumor registry, a hereditary cancer program, and oncology community outreach.
Ms. Owen has more than 25 years of experience as an oncology administrator as well as an oncology clinical
nurse specialist in academic and community hospital settings. She is active in numerous state and national
oncology organizations. Ms. Owen is a member of the Georgia CORE Board of Directors, the sole nursing
representative. She is published in the field of nursing management. Ms. Owen leads the oncology quality
improvement program at NHCI and ensures compliance with accreditation agencies such as ACOS, FACT and
TJC. In addition, she assists in developing internal and external physician relationships, serving as a key
spokesperson and community liaison on issues related to oncology. As administrative lead of the NCCCP at
NHCI, she provided strategic direction and oversight to all aspects of the project ensuring achievement of
deliverables. Ms. Owen’s proven experience and expertise will contribute to her success as The Community
Site Applicant Component Co-Director for the Executive Committee.
